Replacement of the A59 bridge over the Drongelens Canal

After 60 years, the bridge over the Drongelens Canal near Waalwijk was due for replacement. Over the years, the (heavier) traffic on the A59 increased considerably. A new bridge was necessary to guarantee safety and traffic flow in the future.

During the work (2015–2016), the A59 remained accessible thanks to a temporary bridge construction next to the existing bridge. A fine example of infrastructure planning and collaboration.
